Scott Grove Named Head Baseball Coach at Coffee High School

The Coffee County School System is pleased to announce that Scott Grove has been named the new Head Baseball Coach at Coffee High School. Coach Grove will bring an impressive history of experience and success into the Trojan baseball program, having established himself as one of the top baseball coaches in the state of Florida following his professional baseball career.
Coach Grove was drafted by the Atlanta Braves out of Douglas County (Colorado) High School in 1987 and picked up by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1991 in the Major League Rule 5 Draft. Shoulder surgery in 1994 led to his retirement from professional baseball. After retiring as a player, Coach Grove coached at St. Petersburg Community College, Seminole Community College, Colonial High School (1997-2001), Timber Creek High School (2001-2013), and The First Academy (2013-2024).
He led The First Academy (TFA) program to a national championship in 2014 and a state championship in 2021. He has won 555 games in his coaching career, and was named the American Baseball Coaches Association National Coach of the Year in 2021. Grove was also selected to serve on USA Baseball's staff from 2017-2021.
Coach Grove also works as a scout for Major League Baseball and has experience developing and preparing baseball players for the next level. He is widely known for the number of his players who go on to sign college scholarships and professional contracts, with approximately 151 former players having played college or professional baseball.
Coach Grove is married to Dr. Shayne Grove. They have been married for 28 years with two children: Dakoda, 25, and Cassidy, 22. We welcome Coach Grove and his family to Coffee County as the newest Trojans!
