One Coffee. One Team.

The Coffee County School System is composed of eight elementary schools (pre-K through grade 5), one middle school (grades six through eight), a ninth-grade academy, one comprehensive high school (grades ten through twelve), one separate college and career academy (grades nine through twelve) and one alternative program (grades six through twelve). The school system is governed by a five-member board of education elected for a four-year term on a non-partisan basis. The school superintendent is appointed by the board and serves as the chief executive officer. The system serves approximately 7,600 students in Pre-K through 12th grade.

2025 Tax Digest Notice
NOTICE - COFFEE COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Coffee County Board of Education does hereby announce that the millage rate will be set at a meeting to be held at the Coffee County Board of Education Office at 211 Gaskin Avenue S., Douglas, GA on September 11, 2025 at 8:00 AM and pursuant to the requirements of O.C.G.A. Section 48-5-32, does hereby publish the following presentation of the current year's tax digest and levy, along with the history of the tax digest and levy for the past five years.

Summer 2025 Faculty Externship Program

Coffee County educators gained real-world experience through the Summer 2025 Faculty Externship Program. Funded through a program that supports rural education, the faculty externship program in the Coffee County School System allows teachers to enrich classroom instruction by applying real-world examples to the academic content they teach.

Recognizing that cursive writing strengthens student confidence, connects learners to history, and supports essential cognitive development, the Georgia Department of Education is proud to honor schools that demonstrate excellence in cursive instruction through the John Hancock Award.
