Vision & Hearing Screenings for Students

Screenings

During the month of September, the South Georgia State College Nursing students are performing mass vision and hearing screenings for Coffee County School students in the first and third grades. Problems with vision and hearing can result in difficulties with learning and language development. Identifying problems early can help the school and family target issues that may impact a student’s ability to learn successfully. Students that did not pass either the vision or hearing screening will be rescreened at a later date. If the student continues to be unsuccessful in passing the screener, parents will be notified.
